Rumour Mill: A trailer may soon be upon us. - Dark Jedi Brotherhood

system

News has been circling the internet today about the impending release of a simple teaser trailer for next year's Episode VII:The Force Awakens. While none of this has been confirmed, a writer over at Badass Digest talks about what his sources are saying will be the contents of the up and coming teaser trailer...

And really, there isn't a whole lot of content.

" [I]t'll be short. And when I say short, I mean one minute long. It's going to have The Force Theme played on woodwinds, softly, over flashing images of the main leads, each fading to black. There's no dialogue, just reveals of the characters. ... [A]nd we hear a female voice, likely Daisy Ridley's, saying Wake up."

Now, this comes on the heels of the rumours that were swirling concerning the legendary John Williams having started recording some of the score. Obviously, whenever John Williams moves in the next year or so, we can expect rumour theorists to start freaking out, because if there is one thing that is essential to any Star Wars experience, it's this man's music.

For me? I think it's probably true, which leads me to speculate as to when and where we're going to be seeing this new trailer. Some rumours I have seen around the web include it being attached to the release of the The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies, Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, or as part of an exclusive trailer series featured on ABC, probably during Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. I honestly wouldn't even be surprised to see it shoehorned into Disney's Christmas offering of Into the Woods to push that movie's ratings.

Everyone knows that the mouse is a master of vertical marketing, so seeing it's inclusion on another property owned by Disney to make sure the impact is as high as possible makes perfect sense to me.

What do you all think of the rumours? Would the trailer described be enough for your tastes, or do you hope for something a bit more substantial?

To be quite honest, we’ve seen revealings of the cast before because they were all over the social media and news. Carrie Fisher even went on TV to talk about the movie. I’m feeling disappointment about this teaser.

I don’t find this kind of teaser all that surprising. They know people want something, but it has just barely finished principle filming and I would guess there is going to be a lot of post production work to be done. We are looking at still over a year to release. Not all that often you get a decent trailer for something a year out from release.

Still, I’d rather them not do a teaser and wait to be able to put out a real trailer. I don’t need to see a minute long black screen just flashing names or shots of the characters. We already know its coming, and who was cast.

Personally, I’m really hyped. I’m fighting against all the general negativity of the interwebs these days, and just trying to let the little kid in me revel in all the glory that is Star Wars… and like you said Xen, this sort of trailer to me is something I would have expected to be seeing, albeit just a little bit earlier.

It doesn’t even matter to me though if it’s the same people I know are in the movie, or what. I will pay money to go see a movie I don’t care about and watch this trailer if I have to. I will do these things, because I want to believe :stuck_out_tongue:

I wouldn’t mind seeing what some of the characters look like, in the movie…even if it’s just brief snippets. The trailer they seem to be making reminds me of that first teaser trailer for Phantom Menace as well. I mean, I do hope they show a little more, but I’m really not expecting much.

And yeah, I’m expecting it to first come out on something Disney-specific before anything else.

Being a staunch supporter of the expanded universe, I want to see even parts of it. will let us know if disney’s new direction is worthy of star wars.

John Williams has already finished the music for the trailer.

It doesn’t really matter if it seems worthy or not. This is the new direction and I, as a fan, am super excited to get behind it. Personally, I think the trailer will be on The Hunger Games. It’ll be on everything else, too, but studios tend to share big trailers these days (Avengers on Interstellar). I’m excited because I have a bet with a friend about how loud the audience will cheer when the music starts playing

There were more uncomfirmed rumours and hints that it’d be hobbit, which is sweet, cause I’m seeing that in theatres anyways

ZanetXox

Part of my wants Hobbit because I’m also seeing that already, but part of me thinks that’s too long to wait!

There goes your excuse to watch Hungergames? :stuck_out_tongue:

Jennifer Lawrence in a leather bodysuit. Who needs an excuse?
