Phase I objectives

‘‘Phase I begins on October 14th and ends on October 28th (two (2) weeks)’’

After intercepting a transmission from the now destroyed Brotherhood Listener ship, the Psi Termina I, your team has been hand-picked and sent on a mission. You are already boarded on the Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser Akan, arriving in an Imperial boarding craft through the auxiliary starboard hangar, only several decks below your target. The Akan’s hyperdrives and major systems have been disabled by ion cannons from escorting ships and a battle still rages outside.

The ship’s power fluctuates with every blow from turbo lasers and ion cannons and you have limited time to complete your mission. The Collective regiment typically onboard is currently deployed, but ship security is fully staffed and some elements of the regiment may still be onboard. Intel expects Soldiers and Partisans onboard.

Your team has been tasked to complete one of the following objectives in limited time (you may complete only one (1) objective):

  • Revenge path: Reach the main bridge, face and eliminate Captain Brith Kayle and extract valuable information from the computer core before the fleet destroys the ship.

  • Sabotage path: Reach the primary computer core behind the main bridge, extract the information and set the ship to self-destruct before extracting.

  • Pacifist path: Reach the primary environmental controls on the main bridge, pacify the whole ship with Stun gas before extracting data from the computer core and calling in the cavalry.

Caution: the Captain is accompanied by an unknown number of enemy combatants.

The Phase must end with the bridge secured and the ship either pacified or destroyed. In all but the Revenge path, the Captain’s fate is up to you.

Dreadnaught-class Cruiser Akan
Auxiliary Hangar - Starboard

The heavy shuffle of boots across the durasteel deck was the only noise allowed except for the orders being hurled around the hangar. What few officers that had been present to oversee the loading of supplies had been even more surprised to see an entire flight of TIE/br boarding crafts enter the hangar than the working crew had. The crafts, though slow by nature, seemed to barrel in on the trail of ionic and concussive blasts that were pounding the outside hull. The security forces stationed to this sector of the cruiser were immediately notified, but even then the time it would take might not be enough. The officer with the highest rank there, a surly human with a bored expression on his face, suddenly found himself thrust into setting up an attempt at defense amongst the scattered storage crates and cargo vessels. He had wanted to assist in striking a blow against the arrogant Force wielders, but this was a little too close to the front than he’d expected to get. After all, it had been most of the 6th that had been deployed to fight, not a mere deck officer like himself.

The four TIE/br’s spread out in a snaking horizontal pattern before engaging their landing gear. Thick steam released as their systems fought gravity to slow their descent enough for a smooth landing. Before they had even fully touched down, though, their gangplanks snapped loose with an even louder hiss and they fell forward. Troopers covered head to toe in black armor poured from each, and blaster fire erupted from both sides. Though the number of the troopers was limited to a squad per craft, it was the figures that stepped forth after them that began to let actual fear seep into the deck officer. His face fell into a state of grim resolve as four of what he could only assume to be Force wielders emerged behind their compatriots.

Kul took in his surroundings with disdain as he realized the excitement was still not to come. Sure, there was fighting to be had, but his gaze only landed among what looked like some deck workers and a small security detachment. He sighed with disappointment. A stray blaster bolt arced for his chest, but he quickly raised a hand and watched as the energy dispersed over the barrier he had created. He lowered his hand and began descending towards what appeared to be the hub for the hangar’s control systems. A glance to his right showed him that his other team members had begun their work in clearing the location. The female Togruta, and woman he loved, Tahiri, was dancing in amongst the defenders to slash violently with her favored combination of vibrosword and her Night Sisters’ dagger. Her master, Wrathus, a large Epicanthix with a mean streak even Kul could not deny was a bit overkill, was apparently enjoying himself to some degree as he dispatched a few Collective security troopers with a mixture of telekinetic blasts and saber slashes. Just behind him a magnadroid followed to watch his back. The fourth and final member of their selected team, the beastly Shistavanen Fenrir, was currently satisfying his bloodlust armed with vibroclaws. Each took to their purpose with ferocity and efficiency. This team had been assembled together due to their collective abilities and power, a special unit designed around their greatest strength.

They were here to break things.

The Zabrak continued his march largely unabated, though a couple strong-willed troopers thought to halt his advance. He had approached on their flank, not even needing to cloak with the cacophony behind him covering any noise he could make. As he rounded the stack of storage containers they spotted the movement and turned to face him. The distance was a few meters, but Kul dipped into his reservoir of Dark side energy and suffused his legs with it. The feeling of power egged on his bloodlust and he lurched forward with a push of his back leg. The troopers suddenly found themselves on their backs as the Zabrak’s form barrelled through them. Turning on the ball of his feet brought him low into a balanced Jar’kai stance. A sweep of his hands brought both of his sabers to bear from his hips. Both were of crimson, but the longer blade swept outward and slashed the throat of one trooper while the smaller shoto slipped straight down through the visor of the other. Both troopers fell still and Kul returned his weapons to their loops.

Somewhat stimulating at least.

The rest of his short journey to the control panel was uneventful, and one by one the rest of his team fell in behind him, Wrathus dragging a hapless deck officer behind him.

“Tahiri said this one might have information.”

Using his limited experience with slicing–none to be exact–Kul attempted to log in but was immediately blocked by security measures. He nodded in affirmation, never expecting to make it far. The deck officer noticed the hold up and snorted.

“Don’t tell me the Brotherhood’s best agents are you lot? And here I thought that Force wielding tyrants would be smart enough to at least do that much.”

Wrathus made to strike the officer, but Kul raised a hand. The white-haired Sith gave Kul a killer’s glare.

“Be careful, Drol. I agreed to this mission because there was war to wage. I do not, however, take orders from weaker beings.”

Before the inevitable mediation he knew would come from Tahiri, and the headache the argument would bring to him, Kul decided to put the mission first and lowered his head into a respectful bow.

“I meant no disrespect, Wrathus. Just that this officer is useful to us alive for now.”

The Epicanthix was apparently mollified as he grunted but did not dispute the claim. Turning to face the deck officer Kul slid back his hood and lowered himself eye-to-eye with the man.

“So then. We appear to not be much to you? Just brave talk, I imagine, but I’ll give you points for at least having the nerve.” Kul reached into the man’s pockets, pulling out a keycard in the process and handing it to Tahiri behind him. “But we don’t necessarily have to rely on the Force to get things done. A hunter makes use of all his tools in order to catch his prey.”

The officer looked around, noticing how quiet it was now that all the troopers and deck workers except for himself were dead. His face blanched.

“Um. So what are you gonna do with me? The captain might be willing to bargain for prisoners if you’re looking for something. I’m just a deck officer so I don’t have access to that high of intel, but I guess if you’re here you’re looking for something, right?”

Kul had straightened back up, throwing his hood back into place. The shadows across his face deepened the red in his eyes, transfixing the officer while at the same time filling him with dread. The Zabrak gave him a crooked smile.

“Your Collective made a fatal error when they chose to attack the Brotherhood. They actually did it.”

The smile faded. A gauntleted fist raised curled fingers.

“You attacked our homes. My home. I do not speak for all of the Brotherhood, but today…today we take no prisoners.”

As the weight of the condemnation fell upon him, the officer felt the hands of the Epicanthix grasp both sides of his head and everything went black.

Turning away from the loud snap and nodding to Tahiri, Kul glanced at the turbolift not far from where they were positioned.

“Looks like we’re going up.”

TahiriMorte

Tahiri followed close behind Kul, as he led the way to the hydrolift. Pausing briefly to quickly wipe her blades on a uniformed corpse, stealing away the keycard in her bosom. She smiled grimly at her handy work, satisfied that she was striking a blow to the Collective. Tahiri watched as the rest of team fell into pace behind Kul, surprised that Master was at the very least kind of behaving himself.

'Kind of’ being the optimum word here.

The Togruta glanced back across to the troopers as they secured the hanger, treated the few wounded men, and begin their own mission of sabotaging and causing a distraction elsewhere on the ship. The thought of bringing down this ship gave her strange euphoria, her heart twinged slightly as if knowing that this fight was far from over.

Tarentum, my friends. Subordinates who had looked to me for guidance, the people of Yridia. My apprentice. I will not stop until all of your lives and our home is avenged.

Looking back to the group, Tahiri realized that the team had picked up their pace a bit. Quickly sheathing both her blades, a soft growl emanated from the Togruta’s throat as she almost had to jog to keep up with team. As all three men were almost twice her size, Tahiri would have to be quick to keep up with them.

Upon reaching the turbolift, the tall Zabrak looked to her. Nodding, Tahiri produced the keycard and slipped it into the slot near the door. As the doors of the lift slid open, Kul stepped slightly aside to allow Tahiri entrance first. However, Wrathus slipped between them and entered first instead. Kul’s eyes followed the Epicanthix, instantly darkening with anger. Knowing how much the two men disliked each other, she quickly grabbed the keycard and stepped into the lift after her Master, followed by Kul and Fenrir.

Carefully maneuvering herself to be a barrier between Wrathus and Kul, the small Togruta quickly reached to press the button indicating the bridge. Discreetly Tahiri placed her hand on Kul’s arm, immediately feeling some of the tension lessening in the Zabrak. Kul looked down at her as she placed the keycard back into crevice of her bosom.

Fenrir noticed too, and growled questioningly at her, sniffing the air slightly and raising his eyebrow at the Togruta.A soft chuckle emanated from behind Wrathus’ mask as Tahiri flashed Fenrir a smile and shrugged. Out of the corner of her eye, Tahiri watched Kul roll his eyes, while shaking his head. Inwardly smiling, Tahiri knew that she had just shifted the focus from the awkwardness and tension between the man she loved and her Master, and got everyone back focusing on the mission at hand.

As the lift neared their destination, Tahiri unclipped her Rune lightsaber, and unsheathed her Nightsister dagger. The whole team prepared to enter the bridge. Tahiri could feel the Darkside energy growing behind her, as Wrathus prepared himself. Fenrir grunted, checking his Vibroclaws, while Kul took a deep breath. Checking the chronometer on her wrist link, she looked up and gave a quick nod to each of her companions. They all nodded in acknowledgement to her.

A sudden blast shook the ship as the lift doors opened to the bridge, revealing a scene of chaos. Red lights were flashing as the Captain, Brith Kayle, was shouting orders and trying to figure out how the Dark Brotherhood agents could have infiltrated the Akan.

Hearing the lift doors open, the Rodian Captain turned to see a group of four Brotherhood agents, most likely Force users, exiting the lift. The odd matched group seemed to give off an air of power. Immediately, Brith ordered the soldiers on the deck to attack them.

“Kill the Brotherhood scum!”

Tahiri watched as half a dozen Technocrat soldiers advanced to engage, however the ship was rocked by a tremendous blast. Everyone was almost knocked off their feet as the ship listed to one side.

“Well, the troopers certainly did their job,” growled Wrathus, as he unclipped his saber. Fenrir grunt growled in agreement.

“Now let’s do ours!” Wrathus roared, igniting his sabers crimson blade. Gripping it with both hands, he leapt forward, engaging the soldiers. Fenrir followed suit, taking on two soldiers at once, slashing and snarling at them.

Tahiri and Kul looked at each other, both shaking their heads. Tahiri instinctively dodged a bolt from one of the soldiers blaster rifles. Kul immediately found the bolts owner and engaged the man.

“Tahiri, get the Captain!” Shouted Kul over his shoulder.

Tahiri looked around, finding her prey near the bridge’s main consol, yelling orders for more men and to take out all Brotherhood infiltrates. Skirting around the edge of the ensuing fight, she made her to the Captain.

The Togruta wanted to sneak up on him, but the Rodian suddenly turned around. Seeing her, Brith quickly pulled up his BlasTech X-8 Night Sniper blaster pistol, firing a volley of shots in her direction. Tahiri dodged behind a small console, feeling the vibrations of the blaster bolts as the energy hit the consol and the areas close around her.

“Haha, you’re not even brave enough to take me on face to face?” The Rodian laughed out loud. “What’s the matter, can’t do anything without your large bodyguards with you?”

Tahiri felt her anger rising, as the Collective Captain continued to barate and fire at her. Gathering the Force into her limbs and awaiting the right moment for her chance to engage, it came suddenly as Wrathus’ roar echoed and screams of men filled the bridge. For a split moment the shots stopped, Tahiri found her chance. Leaping up, she sprang over the console, igniting her crimson saber, bringing it down as the Rodian his head back towards her. A scream erupted from the Captain, as Tahiri’s saber sliced right through his pistol and hand, while her Nightsister dagger made a swiped across his right knee cap. The Rodian fell onto his back, clutching his hand.

“What did you say about me needing bodyguards?” Tahiri asked slyly. An evil grin spread across her face as the Togruta swiftly and with all her strength, stabbed her Nightsister dagger into his left shoulder, pinning the Rodian to the durasteel floor. Extinguishing her saber, Tahiri bent over and searched him a data stick and keycard to access the system to get the information they needed.

Finally finding the objects, she clutched them carefully in her hand. She was about to stand, when the Brith grabbed her wrist.

“You will not stop us!” He told her indignantly.

“Oh? You really think so huh?” Tahiri asked as her crimson blade sprang to life once again. She watched as the fear began to seep into the Rodian’s purple faceted eyes.

“I won’t stop until those who have taken my home, are all dead.” The dangerous tone in her was the only warning the Captain, as he felt the hot plasma of her blade began to slice through his throat and up into his head. A gurgling sound came through for a few moments, before it stopped and the brightness in eyes faded.

Extinguishing her blade and jerking her wrist from the dead Captain’s bloody hand. Clipping her saber back to her belt, Tahiri pulled pulled the dagger out of the body and wiped it clean. Standing, she looked over to where her teammates had been fighting, only to find them all standing only a meter away, and staring at her.

“I have the data and his keycard, so we can get the information and get out of here,” she said as she turned to the main console. Feeling the ship rock once more with another explosion from elsewhere in the ship, she quickly accessed and downloaded the information they were sent to get. After a moment she pulled the data stick out and held it up.

“Okay, done. Let’s get out of here.”

The men parted as she walked towards the lift, passing the carnage of bodies that were ripped splayed in pieces.

Phase II objectives

Your team left the dreadnought Akan with information that, together with the data analysed by Clans and the Inquisitorius, has lead your to the Meridian Prime space station, a fortress, correctional facility and space dock floating in interstellar space just off the Wild Space boundary. Already under attack by Clan and Dark Council forces, dogfights light up the blackness around the behemoth, and intel suggests the shields and defenses have not yet been weakened enough for a full-scale naval assault. The station is on full alert and firefights have already started as skirmishes between Collective troops and Brotherhood assault teams pepper its three massive hangar bays.

The station houses civilian and enemy personnel, including a correctional facility that holds hundreds of Brotherhood prisoners of war, both Non-Force users and Force users alike. The prison has an isolated security system, its own power generator and life-support. Intel suggests that the prison is managed by a powerful AI (artificial intelligence) controlling the Dioxis security system, many defense blaster turrets, ray shields and a large complement of Imperial Sentry Droids acting as guards, controlled by the prison warden. The interior of the prison itself is pumped with a thin mist of Dioxis gas, preventing escape and anarchy.

You have been dropped off on the lower decks via boarding pod.

Breath masks are provided for this mission, should your team require them. Any Possessions item that prevents inhaling of poisonous gas will be effective as well.

Your team has been tasked to complete one of the following objectives in limited time (you may complete only one (1) objective):

  • Revenge path: Reach the correctional facility and eliminate prison warden Rutgar-4. Caution is advised as there are Imperial Sentry Droids defending him.

  • Sabotage path: Reach the prison’s AI core to recycle the life support and free the prisoners. Prepare for a riot as many prisoners are powerful Force Users and Non-Force Users.

  • Pacifist path: Reach the prison’s AI core and disable the security systems to allow incoming Brotherhood troops to secure the facility.

The phase must end with the prison facility secured, one way or another. In all but the Revenge path, the prison warden’s fate is up to you.

(Revenge)
“Beeeeeeep! Beeeeeep! Beeeep!”

The alarms unending tone filled the lower decks of Meridian Prime. A boarding pod had slammed into the outer hull. Now several squads of Collective troopers were racing down to the scene. Two troopers broke the silence.

“Who would be bold enough to attack us here?”

“More like who would be stupid enough?”

As the squads took their positions around the closed opening to the pod, no one spoke.

“Beeeeeeep! Beeeeeep! Beeeep!”

The alarm the only sound that could be heard as the fire suppression system filled the area with mist and smoke.

[Inside the Pod]

Wrathus was set to explode. He was crammed into a tiny boarding pod with his team. And while none of them spoke, he could sense the feelings and emotions being tossed around. Mainly between his apprentice and Kul. While he had abandoned his attachments, Wrathus could do nothing to stop his own emotions flaring up.

“They’re here.” Fenrir said quietly while watching the sensors.

“Good.” Wrathus stood and took his saber in hand. “You three stay back. I’ll handle these vermin.” His voice was dripping with malice. The air around him cooled to the point where Tahiri could clearly see her breath. She’d seen her Master like this in the past. He was truly in a foul mood and she knew it was best to just listen to him.

“Understood Master. We’ll follow your lead.” She threw a glance at Kul to emphasize her point. She knew that Fenrir would listen as he was the junior ranked member of the team. But with how much her Master and Kul had been butting heads she had to make sure Kul didn’t spark a fight she didn’t want.

The Zabrak sighed at his love’s look. “Very well. I understand Wrathus. You may go.”

“Good choice. Fenrir, open the hatch.”

[Outside]

The hatch of the pod opened with a hiss. The guards stared into the darkness when a single steady hum sounded as two bars of dark red light came to life inside the darkness. It cast it’s morbid light across every surface in the area. Including the unnatural mask that covered the carrier’s face.

“Time to die.” The voice was not human, many of the guard’s were certain that it wasn’t even natural. This alone was enough to make a few break and run. The being chuckled to itself as it stepped out of the pod. “I do love the hunt.”

Wrathus rushed the nearest squad and, with speed faster than they could perceive, swung his blade in a wide arc removing their heads from their bodies. Turning to the next group he held forth his left hand, and discharged veins of blue lightning from his fingertips. The jagged lines of energy cut a swath through the area, harvesting two guards as they went, until they caught up with the largest of the guards and lifted him off his feet.

He screamed as the lightning ripped into him, his flesh made temporarily translucent from the dark power coursing through him. Wrathus savored his pain as he died.

He could feel another guard swinging a vibroblade at him from behind. Smiling behind his mask, he caught the man with the Force and held him in place as he turned around. Drawing him in closer, he grabbed the girl by the throat and slammed her into the floor with his Force-enhanced strength. A melon being crushed with a hammer would be an apt way to describe the sound.

“Sheeda!” Shouted the remaining guard.

Wrathus dodged to the side as the man attacked. With a single upward slash, removed the man’s hands before flinging him across the area with a blast of energy that send him skidding into the wall.

The Sith rose to his full height. He threw back his head and let peal a roar that shook the very walls around them. Before taking off down a corridor in pursuit of the guards that had ran.

Phase III objectives

The Brotherhood advances. What started as sporadic fighting in the major hangar bays of Meridian has turned into an all-out battle on all decks. Spurred by your team’s success in the prison, your Clan forces have come to support you and issue new orders for your team.

Daggo Mouk, one of the leaders of the Collective and the Guildmaster of the Technocratic Guild, has been confirmed on the station. With him he has a potent Technocratic Artifact that, if whisked away, would threaten the position of the Brotherhood in future engagements.

Daggo’s last known position was in the command center, however we have been having trouble following his movements. Wherever he is on the station, he would not leave the artifact unattended. The return of the artifact to Brotherhood hands is of absolute strategic value.

Your team has been tasked to complete one of the following objectives in limited time (you may complete only one (1) objective):

  • Revenge path: Confront and eliminate Daggo Mouk. Have no mercy.

  • Sabotage path: Sabotage the Collective’s future plans by stealing the artifact by any means necessary.

  • Pacifist path: Capture Daggo Mouk for interrogation and trial.

The phase must end with the artifact retrieved. Daggo’s fate is open-ended and up to you.

As the three of them stepped out of the lift, they found the lifeless corpses of what guards were there. Looked like Wrathus just devastated the area around the lift and scared the rest of them off. That impressed even Fenrir who grunted a low growl in approval. He always relishes a show of strength!

However, Wrathus was in a rage or in a bloodlust, for he scrambled after the guards that flew before him. The rest of the team immediately tore off after the guards as well. Despite the element of surprise, which itself will not last long, letting the remaining guards get away would be a bad idea.

Tahiri screamed out, her voice echoing around the corridors, “Get 'em Fenrir!” Her voice had no fear or urgency, but the sinister and evil emotion of a hunter gaining on its prey.

Fenrir did not have to be told twice. He charged at the fleeing group of troopers, running on all fours like a fearsome beast of the wild. Using the Force, he amplified his speed and just smashed into the fleeing group. The impact from behind just disoriented the soldiers, who now lay scattered in a heap on the floor. The first one gathered his wits and raised his blaster at the monstrous Shistavanen! Fenrir however, with the Dark Side aiding her mind and actions, anticipated his. He just swerved to one side, knocked the weapon down, grabbed her man and bit his outstretched arm.

The man and his allies around him were shocked as the beast literally bit and tore his arm off! The rest were too shocked or slower than the first one, and Fenrir made short work of them with his lightsaber and vibroclaws.

“Nice work Fenrir. Now for the next of the party” said Kul’tak.
