News has been circling the internet today about the impending release of a simple teaser trailer for next year's Episode VII:The Force Awakens. While none of this has been confirmed, a writer over at Badass Digest talks about what his sources are saying will be the contents of the up and coming teaser trailer...
And really, there isn't a whole lot of content.
" [I]t'll be short. And when I say short, I mean one minute long. It's going to have The Force Theme played on woodwinds, softly, over flashing images of the main leads, each fading to black. There's no dialogue, just reveals of the characters. ... [A]nd we hear a female voice, likely Daisy Ridley's, saying Wake up."
Now, this comes on the heels of the rumours that were swirling concerning the legendary John Williams having started recording some of the score. Obviously, whenever John Williams moves in the next year or so, we can expect rumour theorists to start freaking out, because if there is one thing that is essential to any Star Wars experience, it's this man's music.
For me? I think it's probably true, which leads me to speculate as to when and where we're going to be seeing this new trailer. Some rumours I have seen around the web include it being attached to the release of the The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies, Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, or as part of an exclusive trailer series featured on ABC, probably during Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. I honestly wouldn't even be surprised to see it shoehorned into Disney's Christmas offering of Into the Woods to push that movie's ratings.
Everyone knows that the mouse is a master of vertical marketing, so seeing it's inclusion on another property owned by Disney to make sure the impact is as high as possible makes perfect sense to me.
What do you all think of the rumours? Would the trailer described be enough for your tastes, or do you hope for something a bit more substantial?
